"knock it down" they said

When we viewed Le Coussol Haut back in November 2005 we fell in love with it immediately! We had many a conversation regarding the Bread Oven House and most of the advice given to us was to 'knock it down'. Admittedly we could have taken the easy option and had it knocked down and developed the land on which it stood....but why would the Bread Oven had stood where it was for it nearly two hundred years and other than a few gaping holes, no power no water and totally overgrown in brambles we were sure it could be restored. I mean what could be so difficult we lived in Dubai and we could micro manage the renovation...couldntt we???
